Stacey decided to mess with me and only submitted eight tasks for the Top Ten Task List of 2019.  My ninth task, “Attend every event and be seen” aligns with her sixth task, community presence.  We talk about how important it is to get involved locally by attending sporting events, civic club meetings, school events and local government meetings. (Party engagement /Email list)

If you are thinking of running for office or getting involved with an election campaign, Stacey points out that one of the best resources available is your local party committee.  She recommends attending a few meetings and engaging with the activists in these groups. I always instruct campaigns to create and maintain an email list of everyone that the campaign makes contact with.  I talk about the process and how it connects to the overall data management strategy. (Community presence/Event calendar)

Campaigns need to be aware of what is going on in their district and establish a strong community presence by attending every local event possible. The best way to do this is to create an event calendar that tracks what events the candidate and campaign surrogates are attending. Click the video link to see full conversation.

The number 4 thing campaigns should do in 2019 (Fundraising/Campaign budget)

Fundraising is the life blood of any campaign because you can't run a campaign without money.  That is why I list it as the number one task for 2019. Stacey has fundraising in her top five.  We had a great conversation about these essential topics. I point out the need for campaigns to develop a spending schedule to figure out the budget for the campaign.  Click the video link above to see the full conversation.
