In this hour long video, I talk with Amy Belmore about what it takes to run a political campaign. The interview starts with Amy’s background working with Rep. Tom Catler and continues all the way through her last campaign with Kathy LaNatra. Amy has run great campaigns in one the toughest districts in Massachusetts. We talk about what the first steps are for a campaign manager to get going on a given campaign. The key is putting together a great team. Amy outlines the key roles that need to be filled. We finish the interview with a discussion of what it takes to be a campaigner manager and close with the same two questions I ask each guest.

Amy's campaign career
Amy has been interested in politics since she was in college, working to register voters. She first became a campaign manager after meeting her State Rep Tom Calter at a nonprofit meet and greet. Ten years and several campaigns later, she was Kathy LaNatra’s campaign manager after Tom retired last year.

Campaign Manager’s first step
