Weekend getaway

Hello, everyone. I am emailing you to introduce myself; my name is Brian Fleming. I am working with John Bowes to recruit South Shore Democrats to help in the New England battleground states of Maine and New Hampshire. As you are probably aware, there are two Senate and two Congressional seats that are competitive in these states. The four seats in the two New England states are very important to Democrats taking control of Congress. Last month I had the opportunity to go to New Hampshire to go canvassing in Nashua, and I can’t recommend the experience enough.

Last month a group of South Shore activists drove up to Concord, New Hampshire, and the day was both enjoyable and profoundly rewarding. The NH Democratic team was incredibly well organized, and after just a few doors our group settled into a great rhythm of canvassing and dropping literature on a beautiful fall Saturday.

What struck me most was the positive feedback from the people we spoke with. Many were enthusiastic, and even those with right‑leaning views expressed real motivation to vote for change and for the solutions Democratic candidates are offering up and down the ballot. It was inspiring and honestly comforting. Online and in the news, it can feel like we’re a divided country, but face‑to‑face conversations tell a different story. People everywhere are frustrated by rising costs, and people everywhere share a deep hope and love for this country.

If you have the time, I strongly encourage you to join one of these volunteer trips. Meeting voters directly and advocating for change in a real, personal way has given me more hope than I ever expected. There is a movement building right now, and it starts with each of us. We have four ways you can help.

The first way you can help is to make calls to New Hampshire and Maine on weeknights at the Marshfield Coordinated Campaign Office. (click here) If you are looking for a more face-to-face volunteer opportunity next weekend, the Massachusetts Democratic Party is doing a day trip to Maine on (10/17)Saturday and Sunday(10/18) . (click here) If you want to go up by yourself the New Hampshire Democratic party needs help in Manchester next weekend too (click here)The big news is we are putting together a New England weekend getaway to Maine and New Hampshire. The weekends of October 24/25  (click here) and October 31 through November 3 (click here) we are sending groups of people to team up with the Main and New Hampshire Democrats to help get the vote out.
